Sweet Oblivion
Have done quite a bit of printing this year for a very talented designer called Billy Thorpe who runs clothing company Sweet Oblivion. Here are some of my favourites from the past year. You can buy them from his online shop but you will have to be quick as he always sells out of them!!

Transept
Transept are a Norwich band who are way beyond my descriptive powers so definitely check them out. They also run a record label called Dronehenge and I helped create their latest release 'Buff as Fuck'
The band created the monoprinted backgrounds then I screen printed the details over the top meaning that each record / cd sleeve is COMPLETELY and UTTERLY individual and unique. NICE!

A bit o' Collagraph Printing
In the beginning collagraphs were what got me into printmaking. I haven't done one for a while - if you don't know what they are here is a step by step guide....
1.Draw out your design on mountboard |
2. Cut it out |
3.Cut away top layer of mountboard to create rough areas to trap ink |
4. Varnish your plate
|
5. Mix up ink |
6. Scrape over plate |
7. Wipe away excess |
8. Roll out accent colours |
9. Roll over plate lightly |
10. Wipe away excess |
11. Roll over yellow highlight |
12. Place on press bed |
13. Wind through press |
14. Peel back print |
15. Dry |
16. Ta-daaa! |
