A bit o' Collagraph Printing

In the beginning collagraphs were what got me into printmaking. I haven't done one for a while - if you don't know what they are here is a step by step guide....
1.Draw out your design
on mountboard
2. Cut it out
3.Cut away top layer of mountboard
to create rough areas to trap ink

4. Varnish your plate

5. Mix up ink
6. Scrape over plate

7. Wipe away excess

 8. Roll out accent colours

 9. Roll over plate lightly

 10. Wipe away excess

11. Roll over yellow highlight
12. Place on press bed

 13. Wind through press

 14. Peel back print

 15. Dry

16. Ta-daaa!

Broken Record

Don't worry no records were harmed during the
making of this collograph (apart from Cliff
Richard ones!)

Achtung!

Here for your visual delight a new collograph
print inspired by Constructivist graphics. It
was a bit tricksy to ink up so I think it will
be available in a very limited edition of 5!

New Collographs

These follow on from the work I was doing on 'Cogs'
for my degree. Martin Mitchell very kindly let me
print them up at his studio on Muspole Street,
check out his work here.
